· Placerville Operational Improvement Project
This Project was awarded the "2009 Project of the Year Award" in the Transportation Category $10 to $50 Million from the Sacramento Chapter of the American Public Works Association. ********** The Caltrans Highway 50 Operational Improvement Project in Placerville consists of widening the highway and bridges, bridge replacement, concrete barrier rail, signs, traffic signals, highway lighting and the relocation of City of Placerville public utilities. Specific work includes the construction of Hangtown Creek Bridge Abutments and Columns, Retaining Walls Nos. 1 and 4, Temporary Signalization, Route 50 On-Ramp Re-alignment, Stage 1 - West Placerville/Route 50 Over-crossing Bridge Replacement (Median Section) and the Bedford Avenue Pedestrian Over-crossing (POC) South Ramp CIDH foundation, Stage 2 - West Placerville/Route 50 Over-crossing Bridge Replacement (Eastbound Lanes), Hangtown Creek Bridge Superstructure, Complete West Placerville Drive onto Main Street, Remove and Replace Spring and Canal Street Bridges, Span Bedford Avenue POC at Route 50, Construct Retaining Walls 3 and 5, Realign Hangtown Creek and the Sanitary Sewer Relocation.
