Highway 50 Placerville Operational Improvements

Placerville, California
This Caltrans project consisted of the widening of Highway 50 in an effort to reduce congestion in the City of Placerville, California. Work also included the construction of a new bridge over Hangtown Creek, widening of existing City bridges and streets, bridge replacement, concrete barrier rail, signs, traffic signals, highway lighting and the relocation of City of Placerville public utilities.

Bradshaw Interceptor 6B

Sacramento, California
The Interceptor Work consisted of installing approximately 8,662 feet of 108″ diameter interceptor, 493 feet of 90″ diameter interceptor, 2,631 feet of 84″ diameter interceptor, two concrete structures, 18 manholes, three flowmeters, and appurtenances.  Approximately 384 feet of 108″ pipe was installed by tunneling and 8,278 feet were installed in open-cut excavations.

3rd Street Light Rail Program

San Francisco, California
Project spanned the distance of 7.0 miles –divided among nine (9) separate segments or contracts– along San Francisco’s Third (3rd) Street.  The primary goal of this ambitious project was to improve overall transit services and provide a fresh distinctive “look” to the commercial corridor and communities as part of MUNI’s scheme to transform 3rd Street into one of the City’s ‘Great Streets’.    Mitchell Engineering (and its joint venture partner) was contracted for five of the nine (contracts) segments.

Segment B

This Project consisted of the reconstruction of 1.8 miles of from 4th Street & King Street to 3rd Street & 22nd Street.  Work entailed street reconstruction with widened sidewalks.
Contract Amount:  $26 million (all inclusive)

Segment C

This project consisted of the reconstruction of 1.0 miles of roadway along 3rd Street between between 22nd Street and Jerrold Avenue.  Work entailed street reconstruction with widened sidewalks.
Contract Amount:  $55 million (all inclusive)

Segment D

This project consisted of the reconstruction of 1.0 miles of roadway along 3rd Street between Jerrold Avenue and Donner Avenue in the Bayview commercial district.  Work entailed street reconstruction with widened sidewalks, landscaping with distinct neighborhood trees and benches, and pedestrian lighting.
Contract Amount:  $38 million (all inclusive)

Ocean Avenue Reconstruction and Improvement

San Francisco, California
This project consisted of the reconstruction of 1.7 miles of roadway along San Francisco’s Ocean Avenue.  A goal of this ambitious project was to provide a fresh distinctive “look” to the commercial corridor and community along Ocean Avenue.
