Job Title: Field/Project
Engineer/Estimator
The Project/Field Engineer provides support to
the Project Manager with tracking project accounting, and control, implementing
direction per the PM and assisting to ensure compliance with quality standards.
The PE is responsible for smooth organization, implementation and completion of
multiple projects, to the satisfaction of the project manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
WHILE WORKING UNDER THE DIRECTION OF A PROJECT MANAGER
• Facilitate flow of project information
• Draft and distribute meeting notes
• Log, distribute and track plans and contract
documentation
• Distribute and track RFPs
• Draft and distribute (commitments)
subcontracts, purchase orders, and CCOs.
• Review submittals for compliance to contract
documents
• Collect, draft, track and distribute Submittals
and RFI’s
• Maintain drawings, specification, RFI and
other logs as required
• Assist communication flow
• Travel to jobsites, participate in OAC
meetings when necessary
• Project closeout with subcontractors to obtain
final documents
• Other duties as directed by Project Manager
Estimator will assist Senior/Chief Estimator in Take-offs, Estimating and other communications and documentation in developing bids and proposals.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- AA degree in engineering or construction management or equivalent experience and/or certification.
- Ability to read plans
- Proficiency with MS Office with a proficiency in using spreadsheets, word processing and database application
- Proficiency with Bluebeam a plus
- Language Skills: must be able to read and write in English; bilingual in Spanish is a plus
- Mathematical Skills: basic business math and the ability to create and understand budgets; geometry, algebra and physics necessary for calculating volume, area and tonnage
- Planning and Organizing: this position requires self‐motivation, strong planning, organizing and time management skills, the ability to create and follow a schedule and multiple activities
- Reasoning Ability: must have strong problem solving, analytical skills and reading comprehension and be able to deal with both standardized and non‐standard situations with many variables.

COMPENSATION:
We generally start interns at an hourly rate. However, full time Engineers/Estimators will start in the mid 60’s.
Mitchell Engineering a San Francisco based Heavy Civil Contractor is looking for Superintendents, Foreman Operators and Laborers. We are a union contractor and are able to sponsor Carpenters, Operators and Laborers in the Union. We utilize Excavators , Loaders, Backhoes, HydroCranes, Directional Drilling Units, Dump Trucks as well as other common equipment for UG Utilities and Heavy Civil Construction. Our work is full time. You must be able to pass a drug test. Superintendents, Operators and Foreman. We pay competitively.

10 years min Experience in Civil Construction
At least Five years’ experience as an Operator Laborer or Carpenter and Five years’ experience as a Foreman or there abouts. Must possess skills for Leadership, Problem Solving, Communication, bilingual a plus. Prefer Schedule experience, computer experience. Foreman you would be overseeing a team of three. Bilingual is a plus but not

Ability to lift 50-75 pounds
Read and execute plans in the field
Must be able to give and follow clear verbal directions. Must be able to
conduct work safely and keep employees safe. Accurately complete daily reports,
time cards, and safety meetings.
